Everything looks better in lace, right? Well… maybe not everything, but we like to think this Lada certainly does! So here’s your chance to win a Lada covered in stunning lace paint—a Lacy Lada, if you will!

Let’s be honest, Ladas don’t exactly have a reputation for being luxury cars. Built in the Soviet Union and based on the legendary Fiat 124, they were designed to be simple, rugged and capable of surviving the brutal Russian road network—which, judging by the state of some of our roads, makes them surprisingly well suited to life in the UK too!

Over the last few years, though, the humble Lada has become something of a cult classic. There’s now a huge community of enthusiasts, a thriving modified Lada scene and an excellent supply of parts, making these quirky classics more popular than ever.

This early 1971 example comes with some great perks too. Being over 40 years old, it benefits from historic vehicle status, meaning free road tax, MOT exemption (where applicable) and ULEZ exemption, making it incredibly affordable to own and enjoy.

We absolutely love this thing. It’s low, loud and definitely slow—but that’s all part of the charm. It’s impossible to go unnoticed. Wherever it goes, people smile, point, take photos or give it the classic thumbs-up as this little Soviet brick happily bounces down the road.

Mechanically, the car is largely standard, with the main modification being its lowered suspension. The real magic is in the styling. Finished in deep black with intricate gold lace paintwork, it wears a traditional lace paint design inspired by the classic American lowrider scene, and somehow it suits the Lada perfectly. The chrome moon-style wheels complete the look, giving it a style that stands out absolutely anywhere.

Inside, it’s classic Lada through and through, with wood-effect trim, brown vinyl seats and all the wonderfully simple charm you’d expect. To tie in with the exterior, the door caps have been finished with glitter paint, adding a little extra sparkle to an already unique interior.

This is a seriously cool classic that’s guaranteed to make people smile wherever it goes. Whether you’re into classic cars, custom builds or just love owning something completely different, this Lada ticks every box.

Now it’s your chance to win it in yet another of our low-odds competitions. Good luck!
