We might as well continue the theme of fun summer cars and low odds, especially now that summer is properly here! The MK1 Audi TT has always been one of those genuinely cool cars — a rare case of a concept car making it to production while still looking futuristic and unique even today. With its timeless shape, unmistakable curves, and proper driver-focused feel, it’s easy to see why these cars have built such a loyal following over the years.
This particular example is fitted with the sought-after 225bhp “BAM” engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, making it an absolute blast to drive. The BAM-powered cars are widely regarded as some of the best MK1 TTs thanks to their strong performance, fantastic tuning potential, and huge aftermarket support, with endless upgrades readily available off the shelf. Add in the legendary quattro AWD system and you’ve got a car that feels planted and confidence-inspiring whatever the weather.
This car really stood out to us for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s an original example with all the factory engravings and details still in place — something that’s becoming harder and harder to find as these cars get older. Secondly, and most importantly, the colour. We’ll be honest, at first we thought it was just another red TT… but when we saw it in person, we quickly realised this was something much more special.
Finished in the rather rare Misano Red Pearl, this TT absolutely comes alive in the sunlight. Under the right lighting it throws out an incredible burnt orange pearl effect that completely transforms the car and gives it a real presence on the road. It’s the kind of colour that gets attention everywhere and suits the shape of the MK1 perfectly. Combined with the roadster styling, it makes for a seriously cool little sports car that feels every bit as special as it looks.
And while it’s the perfect car for sunny weekend drives and roof-down summer evenings, it’s also surprisingly usable all year round. The roof is fully watertight and the quattro AWD system means it remains capable and confidence-inspiring when the weather turns and the roads get slippery.
