When we heard this silly green machine was back up for sale we had to buy it! Now back with more boost and more gear ratios!
The Rover 45 was always known for being a humble little machine often owned as a retirement car by someone’s grandmother, and in all honesty that was this car’s story up until a couple of years ago where it was turned into a very capable fast road car!
Under the bonnet, you will find a 1.8 K series (yes, it’s had the head gasket done). Its been fitted with the Lotus 135r cylinder head with alloy manifold and 440cc injectors for some extra fuel, which helps with the MG6 turbo system bolted to it making 10psi of boost. Ecu has been mapped by an MG specialist. This car packs a serious punch that is now delivered to the wheels by a PG1 gearbox, which is a much stronger gearbox and gives better ratios top end.
Handling wise, these are actually quite a good solid chassis, sharing a fair few similarities with a honda! The car is fitted with colivers and has a light brake upgrade. The handling has also been enhanced massively by the R888r tyres.
Inside is all rather standard apart from the extra gauges, steering wheel, and cobra Monaco series race seat.
This is an extremely capable car that would make a great fast daily, fun weekend car, or even an unexpected track car. We love this car and you should too!
