1995 Mk1 Mx5 Track Car
As we all know to enhance speed we can create lightweight cars and that’s what this little MX5 is all about. I wanted a reliable track car that I could play with all day and not really have to worry about and the MK1 MX5 ticked every box possible.
Power wise it’s all fairly standard from the 1.8, only real mods for power are the full exhaust and intake, the rest are cooling mods such as the oil cooler, radiator and fans. To add to the lightweight aspect, everything that isn’t needed has been removed so all panels are now single skin and held down with race pins, absolutely no interior is left, excess metal has been removed but a cage was added for safety along with the fire systems, seat and harnesses.
To make the car handle better it has upgraded poly bushes, Avon coilovers fitted, semi slick tyres and a few upgrades here and there to make it the perfect reliable track tool.
The MX5 has been serviced after every track day, along with the cambelt being recently changed.
Really good base car for what it is, you won’t have more fun on a track day than with a MX5 that will sit on the limiter all day happily.
Car will have MOT at time of delivery.
