Well, it turns out you lot seem to have a bit of a thing for Rovers… and an even bigger thing for MINIs.
After the success of our last Cooper S, the message was pretty clear: you wanted a proper MINI. Not a modern MINI, not a MINI-inspired hatchback, but a genuine classic British icon.
So we’ve teamed up with YouTube sensation Cash Machine Cars to give one lucky winner the chance to own this stunning Rover MINI Sprite, a car that perfectly captures everything enthusiasts love about these little legends.
And this isn’t just any old MINI.
This car has recently undergone a ground-up restoration, meaning it presents beautifully from top to bottom. More importantly, it means the one thing that has sadly claimed so many classic Minis over the years has already been dealt with—rust. Finding a restored Mini of this quality is becoming increasingly difficult, and with values of good examples continuing to rise, this is the sort of car that enthusiasts are constantly searching for.
Finished in the gorgeous combination of Bermuda Blue with an Old English White roof, this MINI looks like it’s been transported straight out of the 1960s. The classic Mk1-style grille, Mk1 rear lights and period-correct 10-inch steel wheels give it the appearance of an early Mini, while subtle upgrades help it deliver an even more exciting driving experience.
Step inside and things get even better.
The FIA half cage, bucket seats and purposeful driving position make it feel like a miniature touring car ready to attack your favourite B-road or take on a few laps at Goodwood. It has all the charm of a classic Mini, but with the sort of character that makes every drive feel like an event.
Power comes from the legendary 1275cc A-Series engine, which breathes far more freely thanks to the addition of the larger HIF44 carburettor and a sports exhaust system complete with centre-exit exhaust. The result is a Mini that not only looks fantastic but sounds fantastic too.
For those unfamiliar with classic Minis, there is a reason they remain one of the most celebrated cars ever produced.
Designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and immortalised through motorsport success, including multiple Monte Carlo Rally victories, the Mini changed the automotive world forever. More than sixty years after its launch, enthusiasts still regard it as one of the most enjoyable cars ever built.
They’re lightweight.
They’re nimble.
They’re simple.
They’re packed with character.
And on a tight, twisty British back road, they can still embarrass cars with ten times the power and twenty times the price.
Modern cars are faster. Modern cars are quieter. Modern cars are more comfortable.
But very few modern cars deliver the pure, unfiltered driving experience that a classic Mini provides. Every journey feels special. Every corner feels like an adventure. Every fuel stop turns into a conversation with somebody who either owned one, wanted one, or wishes they still had one.
Whether you want a show car, a weekend toy, a future investment, or simply one of the most entertaining classics money can buy, this MINI ticks every box.
And the best bit?
You could be taking the keys home for just £1.49.
If you’d like to see exactly how this little MINI got to where it is today, head over to the Cash Machine Cars YouTube channel and follow its journey from start to finish.
All that’s left to say is…
In the words of Harry from Cash Machine Cars:
“Good luck!”
