As you know with EP-COMPS, we love the pure hot hatches! Especially this era – with limited weight, engines that make you work for the powerband and the simple feel of a good old fashioned 5 speed manual with hydraulic power steering. This is the era of hot hatch that gives true satisfaction when driving and is incredibly rewarding when on the limits! This Clio 172 is a very high spec with pretty much every possible option ticked, we liked it due to being a nice original example (apart from intake to heighten the experience of the little French four pot)!
Weighing in at just over 1000kg and with 172 bhp it makes for a great road car! As we know with the French, they make hot hatches as good as their pastries and have been consistent with it from the start! I got the car for EP-COMPS not because I thought it would do well but because I have genuinely always wanted a good go in a 172, and honestly, it hasn’t disappointed! If this one goes well, I’m sure it will be the start of many French hot hatches! But can you really go wrong at these odds and prices?
