What happens when you ask the team behind the iconic Honda NSX to make a car that prioritises MPG’s over everything else? You get this stylish little 2 seater liftback, the Honda Insight mk1! This is the first production car to use Honda’s Integrated motor assist system which is designed to help the sweet little 1.0 three cylinder save as much fuel as possible, combined with every last ditch effort to save weight (without making the insight an uncomfortable place to be). This car will still pull over 75 MPG on your average run!
This insight is particularly special. not only is it a Japanese import in the iconic citrus yellow paint scheme with only 90km on the clock, but according the the stamp in the engine bay, this is only number sixteen off of the Japanese production line! Making this a very early example of a landmark in Honda’s History!
This may not be the most exciting car to drive but the here at EP Comps we believe the mk1 Insight is just as iconic as everyone’s favourite Honda’s. And we would certainly have one over a Toyota Prius.
